Relax, it's Just a Show!

Are we overreactive as a society? I think so, I believe that as a society we take everything on T.V. to heart rather then taking it for what it is. A T.V. SHOW!! WAKE UP AMERICA IT'S NOT REALITY!! And the fact that we obsess over aspects of what's wrong with a show such as are they sexist, are they racist, are they prejudice really makes me wonder about the world we live in today. I believe we are overly touchy feely, we have to make sure that every show has an equal amount of people from the same class, different races, and of course comprised up of different sexual orientations. And if the show has an unequal amounts complaints flock in to the station. I believe that we as a society need to learn to stop overanalyzing everything. Especially T.V. shows, not every T.V. show can satisfy everyones need. Yeh, they may say something that you don't like but, it's a good thing that there are hundreds of other television shows. Granted that there do have to be limits for television, especially in terms of violence, nudity and profanity. Networks such as HBO, and Showetime are able to show violence, nudity and profanity because viewers have to subscribe to them, so they are able to show more extreme content. There are networks on television that are literally marketed toward every interest and almost every type of person. For example maybe something on a normal network show such as CBS, NBC, or ABC, really offends you, well, stop watching it! Turn off the television and go read a book or simply change the channel rather then sitting their watching the show in disgust (or perhaps you are taking the show way to seriously), just switch it, one might actually find another show on T.V. that they really love. Lets loosen up America and not take everything so seriously we've all turned into a bunch of over analyzing complainers.
