I really don’t watch too much TV especially since I started going to DePaul or basically since I started my college career. In high school I would stay up late and watch Cartoon network at least four times a week; the shows that where on Adult swim were always funny, most of them anyways. I could always count on a few fifteen minute shows to crack me up as well as that white text that pops up during commercial breaks. Whoever types that stuff up is pretty funny. Not until recently (over the weekend) did use my time to watch what was on Adult swim. Unfortunate to say, it isn’t what it used to be, it’s far from it. It isn’t that I am one of those people that hate new shows only because they are new and I don’t like change or whatever, but I didn’t like them because they weren’t funny. I gave a few a chance, I watched them all the way through. It was not worth it, I was left sitting there wondering what is late night comedy coming too?! Who thinks this is funny? I can’t even remember the name of the two shows I watched but I seriously thought it was really bad. Media seems to be constantly changing and evolving to the liking of who ever stays up to watch what is on. I wonder who Adult swim is targeting. It certainly wasn’t me and I know other people my age feel the same way. Is it the older generation or the younger one? I honestly hope it is the older generation , either that or brain dead half of my generation. If those shows were targeting the younger generation and they are watching that crap, I really can have no hope for the future.
